Where food and cosmetics meet

In response to new consumer demands, food products are becoming ever more sophisticated, with enhanced functions. The successful positioning of nutrition as a health benefito has now given way to the cosmetic value of food.

The Food & Beauty exhibition held during SIAL and Beyond Beauty Paris emphasizes how food and cosmetics converge

 

The Food & Beauty area introduced to visitors the products that exemplify the cosmeto-food trend, whereby food moves into the beauty sphere and, conversely, beauty moves into the food sphere. Products were exhibited according to consumer demands such as anti-aging, glowing complexion and moisturizing qualities, slimness, detox, well-being and natural living, energy and vitality, delicacy and glamour, and galenic form.

In addition, Marketing Studio presented a picture of the cosmeto-foods of the future by designing advertisements to display these products and concepts.

Food & Beauty Conference. Get Inspired!

Led by Françoise Dasseto, White Spirit Chairwoman, Laurence Bethines, Team Creatif Trends and Innovation Manager, and Jean-Marc Lévy, Marketing Studio Manager, the Food & Beauty conference entitled "Get Inspired!" provided a complete overview of the cosmeto-food trend and the points of convergence between food and beauty, beginning with a status report on products and packaging: market codes, sales pitches, developing product categories, distribution channels and global comparisons:

  • New relationship with the body, new beauty considerations - so what are the brand implications?
  • Ingredients, textures, fantasies - new reasons for fickle consumers to believe in new products
  • What markets, today and tomorrow ?
