You are a visitor
All foreign visitors entering and sojourning on French territory must have a properly endorsed valid entry visa for the duration of their stay unless exempted from this obligation.
For short stays (less than 90 days in the Schengen Area), the following are exempted from obtaining a visa:
- Nationals from the following countries: Andorra, Argentina, Australia, Bermuda, Brazil, Brunei, Canada, Chile, South Korea, Costa Rica, Croatia, El Salvador, United States of America, Guatemala, Honduras, Israel, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, Monaco, Nicaragua, New Zealand, Panama, Paraguay, San Marino, Vatican, Singapore, Uruguay, Venezuela;
- Holders of a passport from Hong Kong (People's Republic of China) or Macao (People's Republic of China) administrative regions of China;
- Holders of valid papers for sojourning in France;
- Holders of valid papers, for sojourning in France, issued by a state subject to the Schengen Agreements;
- Holders of travel documents issued by a state subject to the Schengen Agreements.
Visas for staying in France can be applied for online when pre-booking (from 17 March 2010).
