Wine Innovation Forum

SIAL created the Wine Innovation Forum in 2008 as a meeting place for the wine profession. It is dedicated to grape stock and brands, its two highlights being the "Varietal area" and "Top Brands".

Varietal area

In the Varietal area, ten types of grapes are presented from both Europe and the New World: sauvignon, chardonnay, chenin, riesling, pinot grigio, merlot, cabernet-sauvignon, malbec, syrah and pinot noir.

This tasting area provides commentaries on each grape variety in terms of its typical characteristics, its reach and the trading prospects in the major markets.

Top Brands

30 major iconic labels (16 French, 14 non-French), representing the global wine offering, are presented in the light of their dynamism and creativity. These brands have been selected by SIAL according to three criteria:
- Innovation, whether sourcing, vine-stock selection, taste or packaging
- Trading success
- Creation of value

Some 30 senior managers of French and international wine companies presented their brands in the Wine Innovation Forum area:
